Cannon Mountain Ski Area
Cannon offers 11 lifts servicing 285 acres of skiing (192 with snowmaking), 25 miles of trails and has the only aerial tramway in New Hampshire.

Snowmobiling
The Northern White Mountains is well known for its snowmobile trails. The Jefferson Area Trail System is known as “God’s Country”. Our Inn is located along the #5 Corridor Trail. From the Inn, you can snowmobile into Maine, Canada, or Vermont. Fuel is available across the street, and rentals are available about 7 miles away!

Biking
We have several books that describe local routes and are always happy to provide directions. Just remember…we’re in the mountains, so not all rides are flat. We are located midway on the Cross New Hampshire Adventure Trail. For mountain biking Bretton Woods and Great Glen Trails have a wide variety of trails available. Mountain bike rentals are also available.
Golfing
We live in a golfer’s paradise with five golf courses nearby: Androscoggin Valley Country Club, Bethlehem Country Club, Maplewood Country Club, and The Mountain View Golf & Country Club, Waumbek Golf Course . All of them are reasonable and unique.

Hiking
There are literally over a hundred different hiking trails within twenty minutes of The Jefferson Inn including Mount Washington and the Presidential range. We have hiking maps for you to borrow. Hikes are available for all ages and abilities, through deep woods or open fields, any length you might desire including trails that depart from the Inn. We can help you find a trail right for you.
Horseback Riding
The Mt. Washington Hotel offers horseback riding from their stables near Bretton Woods which is located about 20 minutes from the Inn. The Mountain View Grand also has horses that offer trail rides, carriage rides and pony rides located about 10 minutes from the Inn. We would be happy to make reservations for you.
